The Videojet 2380 inkjet printer offers a complete solution for printing on corrugated cardboard cases, cartons, shipping containers and other porous materials. Modular and easy to integrate, this large character marking system is designed for operation and maintenance by any user with minimal training or experience. Self-cleaning technology automatically performs routine printhead cleaning, helping to ensure consistent print quality with less mess and maintenance. The Videojet 2380 delivers a fast start-up and prints durable, high-resolution text, logos and bar codes ready to meet the demands of the distribution chain.

This versatile carton and cardboard box printer adapts to users’ unique marking and coding requirements. It delivers on-demand coding of variable production data such as lot codes, manufacturing dates and contents. Two printheads can be easily integrated with no additional hardware needed, allowing coding of up to 5.5 inches (140mm) in print height or coding on two sides of a case. Both printheads can be controlled by one user interface, which is separate from the print engine so it can be placed in the optimal position for the operator.

The Videojet 2380 is an easy-to-use marking solution with an intuitive touchscreen and SIMPLICiTY™ user interface that offers onboard job editing and operator guides, helping to reduce printer interactions and potential user errors. With embedded protocols for connectivity and compatibility, the system offers USB, VideojetConnect™ and ZPL emulation. Wi-Fi is also embedded for remote access and analytical capabilities. The HMI easily integrates with a bar code scanner for rapid job selection and data entry. Scan2Run™ functionality in the 2380 helps ensure that the correct code is selected and downloaded to the printer, reducing coding errors and rework.

The system features an air knife that helps to clean the nozzle plate. An automatic micro-purge process can be programmed to clean the printhead nozzles at specific intervals to help prevent dust blockages without stopping the production line.

Ink used in the auto-purge process is recycled back into the system, providing cleaner operation and optimised ink usage for reduced costs. Moreover, the printer’s compact ink canister can be quickly and easily changed without disrupting production. The 2380 offers a selection of seven ink colours, to assist in product differentiation and package aesthetics.

The robust design of the Videojet 2380 delivers uptime through proven printer technology. In addition, a new printhead design increases uptime by allowing more time between cleanings.

The 1580 C printer is engineered to print codes with consistent quality, excellent contrast, and strong durability to avoid degradation and fading during production runs. The conical mixer tank helps improve ink recirculation, which reduces pigment settling and increases ink consistency. At less than 1kg (2.2lbs) and measuring 205.0mm (8.07”), it is similar in size to a Videojet continuous inkjet printhead. The compact and flexible marking head requires less mounting bracketry and enables fast setup and repositioning to increase the range of installation opportunities. Measuring just 41.3mm (1.60”) in diameter, it is designed to fit almost anywhere on a customer’s line while achieving optimal focus and power density without trading off on code quality.

The 7340 and 7440 models incorporate the same trusted technology as previous Videojet fiber laser solutions, with marking speeds of up to 2,000 characters per second on high-density packaging substrates across a wide range of materials including metals, plastics and foils, without compromising on code quality, uptime performance, code length or content.

The Videojet 7340 and 7440 fiber lasers feature an integrated pilot beam focus finder, offering easy, fast and precise focal alignment during the installation process or when frequent line or product changeovers are required. There is no need for measurement tools or awkward adjustments as operators can easily see that the pilot beam is in focus and the laser is ready to code, thanks to the built-in system using the triangulation of two beams.

Available with a range of features to further aid the ease of integration, the Videojet 7340 and 7440 fiber laser options include: 0° and 90° marking heads, three focal distances and two umbilical length options (3m and 10m).

Manufacturers can choose from a variety of familiar Videojet user interfaces to control the 7340 and 7440 Fiber Lasers, including the Videojet Touch Control Software+ (TCS+) that is engineered specifically to help manufacturers control Videojet lasers remotely through either the TU430 10.1” color touchscreen laser controller, or from virtually any browser-based device other than a Safari browser. Alternatively, the advanced Videojet laser controller with CLARiTY™ software features an intuitive touchscreen used in other Videojet marking and coding solutions, which allows for simple operation while helping to minimize operator errors.
